Modelling the social co-benefits of nature-based solutions
The application of nature-based solutions (NbS) are viewed in CLEVER Cities as being a catalyst for social inclusivity in urban regeneration strategies, enabled through civic participation in the co-creation of green interventions with respect to social cohesion and wellbeing. Focusing on the partner city of Milan, the project developed a social monitoring framework to:
- overview the major regeneration challenges and expected co-benefits of the project
- examine the relevance of using NbS in addressing social co-benefits
- cross-reference a wind-rose multi-model of co-benefits analysis for NbS across the regeneration challenges of the project

The wind-rose multi-model graphically represents the co-benefits of NbS in Milan and enable us to evaluate indicators for NbS concerning their importance for citizens. From the core to the periphery, the three key regeneration challenges for NbS are linked to their macro and micro indicators.
